The Ampezzo climate is intermediate between the continental and oceanic one, with cool summers and short but very long and cold winters, with easy snowfall mostly in high altitude.

The average annual rainfall is concentrated mainly in the summer months of June and July and are minimal in February.

Each year between late December and early January, there are some of the lowest temperatures of Italy.
